This archive photo is now preserved at the British museum.
The curator note states, "This view shows the temple shikara, from the hillside. "The lower temple of Amritesvara, which is said to have been in existence before the big one [the Sambhu Mahadeva], is of much the same style of work. It is in a very shattered condition and is dangerously unsafe for use, but people use it nevertheless."
