Pencil drawing of the plan of a cave near Dholpur in Rajasthan by Frederick Charles Maisey, dated 1847. Inscribed: 'Plan of the recess called Maj Kund Ke Gupha and the Building in front of it - on the Mooni Sydh or Bharkunj Ke Pahar near Dholpore Novr. 20th 1847. Vide sections on the reverse'.
In the 'Descriptive List of drawings of Captain Maisey' the artist wrote, "Dholpur is chiefly celebrated for the gumpha or cell of Majkund; this is a place of pilgrimage, and the scene of a yearly Mela or fair in celebration of the death of Khaljuman… “Majkund ke Gumpha”, the cave or properly cell of Majkund, is in a small hill some distance from the City; it is a small hollow under protecting rocks, artificially built up to as to resemble a cave...and reached through a flat slabroofed chamber tenanted, at the time of my visit, by... two Fakirs."
